About Jim Wynn’s Re-Election Campaign

Judge Jim Wynn, Senior Associate Court of Appeals Judge, is running to keep his seat on the North Carolina Court of Appeals.

Judge Wynn has been endorsed by, among others, the North Carolina Association of Educators, the North Carolina Troopers Association, the Police Benevolent Association, the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys, the AFL-CIO, lawyers and African-American organizations throughout the State, and Democratic and Republican Former Chief Justices of the North Carolina Supreme Court – Burley Mitchell, James Exum, Rhoda Billings, and Henry Frye.  And it’s no wonder why.

Judge Wynn has over seventeen years of judicial experience on North Carolina’s Court of Appeals and Supreme Court.  He is the Chair of the American Bar Association’s Judicial Division — the first African-American chair of an organization with over 4000 members, state and federal judges from around the country.  Judge Wynn is also a Certified Military Trial Judge and was the Commanding Officer of the Navy Reserve Judiciary Unit.  A leader on judicial independence issues, Judge Wynn also writes and speaks nationally on issues affecting the judiciary.

Born and reared in Martin County, North Carolina, Judge Wynn is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, Marquette University Law School, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  He is married to Jacqueline Rollins Wynn and is the proud father of three sons.

Judge Wynn has been deeply honored to serve the people and the justice system of our great State.  He has worked hard to apply the law fairly and impartially, and he hopes to do so for another eight years.

To do that, Judge Wynn needs your help. Volunteer for the campaign by emailing judgewynn2008@yahoo.com.
